Tech companies make it tougher to send 'heat of the moment' emails

SPOKANE, Wash. - Ever send an e-mail or a text message and wish you hadn't?

It's called tech regret, and fortunately there is a way to make sure you never experience tech regret again.

One example: A new "Undo Send" feature by Google holds an e-mail message for five seconds before sending it, giving the sender time to hit the panic button.

Meanwhile, iPhone users can activate the NIMBY feature, which stands for "No Intoxicated Messaging By You."

NIMBY will allow you to write the text, but before you can send it you have to answer a series of questions or you can use the iPhone "Bad Decision Blocker."

It allows you to block any of your phone's contacts for a predetermined length of time.

Like the iPhone application, if you're a Google e-mail user, you still need to activate those particular features of you want to use them.

Bottom line: Think before you hit send.
