Authorities dispose of pipe bomb

SPOKANE, Wash. - Authorities have disposed of a pipe bomb discovered in a home in the 18000 block of E. Cowley.

A landlord, along with a work crew, were cleaning out the vacant home when the bomb was discovered. The crew took the device outside and notified authorities.

The Spokane County Sheriff's bomb squad arrived on scene and disposed of the pipe bomb.

Police are working to contact the previous tenant of the home, who was evicted. Authorities do not believe the pipe bomb was left in the home intentionally or out of malice toward the landlord.
