Suspected drunk driver crashes into Spokane Valley salon

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. - A suspected drunk driver's wild ride ended inside a Spokane Valley salon early Monday morning. Spokane Valley Police say that a woman was driving eastbound on Sprague just before 3 a.m. when she crashed into another vehicle then slammed into the front of the Fantastic Sam's hair salon near the corner of Sprague and Evergreen.

The crash caused significant damage to the building's front entrance and the inside of the business however it appeared the building was still structurally sound. Police arrested the woman shortly after the crash and she was booked into the Spokane County Jail on suspicion of DUI. Both the suspect and the driver of the vehicle she hit were uninjured in the crash and no one was inside the salon at the time of the crash.

The woman's vehicle was removed from the building and towed away just before 4:30 a.m. and a repair crew boarded up the front of the business a short time later. So far there's no word on how much it would cost to repair the damages however KHQ was told that the owner's hoped to be able to reopen the business later this week.

There's no word on what other charges the woman may be facing in relation to the crash.
