Forecasted showers and thunderstorms weakening

SPOKANE, Wash. - We are seeing showers and storms that have been building and collapsing on themselves.  So far we haven't seen much in the way of any thing very strong in terms of hail or wind, mainly these storms have produced locally heavy rain but most haven't been able to maintain themselves to enough to allow much to accumulate.

Earlier we had a small stream flood advisory near Highway 97 in south-central Chelan county, where radar estimated 1.-1.5 inches of rain but it has since decreased in intensity.  Radar trends show a slight upward swing with the afternoon heating, but not much yet.  There is also a band of precipitation the Blue Mountains tracking north and we will continue to watch this to see if anything develops.

Daytime highs are expected to top out at 80 degrees for today and will dip slightly for Sunday and the first half of the week into the upper 70's. We are also expecting our unsettled weather pattern to continue through the week, with most of the shower and thunderstorm activity staying in the mountains.
