Suspect breaks into car and slams small dog to the ground

SPOKANE, Wash. - Crime Stoppers has offered a cash reward for information that solves the assault of a 4-year-old Shih Tzu.  The entire brutal attack was caught on surveillance video.

On June 22nd, a couple parked their four-door Volvo on Post Street along Spokane City Hall.  They went to an evening movie leaving the five-pound dog on its leash inside the car.

A white male came along and kicked in the window of the car, pulled the dog out and swung it on its leash, smashing it against the wall of the building.  A female companion can be seen in security video trying to pull the male away from the car.

The dog has been in treatment for life-threatening injuries since, but took a downturn on Tuesday.  Its survival is in question.

Anyone with information about this crime is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 509-327-5111.  Tipsters do not have to give their name to collect the cash reward.
