SPOKANE, Wash. - Spokane Police have located who they were calling a 'person of interest' in a fatal stabbing Monday night. The stabbing, that left one person dead, happened in the 400 block of S. Greene St. in East Spokane just before 10. SPOKANE, Wash. - Police have named a suspect in a stabbing that left one man dead. Police have probable cause to arrest 24-year-old Maggie Tyler for 2nd Degree Murder in connection with the Monday night stabbing near 5th and Greene.

Police have interviewed two other men in connection with the case. Nathan Gilstrap, 28 and Matthew Nedeau, 24, are being considered 'persons of interest' in connection with the murder of 24-year-old Vitaliy Shevchuk. Both men are in jail on charges not relating to the stabbing.

Detectives say Shevchuk, left a house on S. Greene and was walking with a friend to a nearby store when a Toyota Yaris with three people inside drove by the pair and at some point, there was an exchange of words which eventually led to a fight.

Shevchuk was said to have thrown a large rock through the rear window of the car. The three people in the car reportedly had knives when the fight became physical and Shevchuk was stabbed. The three people then fled the scene in the car. At least one witness was able to get the license plate number of the car.

When police and medical crews arrived on scene,  Shevchuk was said to be suffering a life-threatening wound.

He was transported to an area hospital just before 11 p.m. and was pronounced dead just after 2:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Police found the car in the area of Denver and Carlisle and discovered the owner of that car to be Savannah Frye, who was located by police Wednesday.
