Fire crews knock down house fire in northeast Spokane
SPOKANE, Wash. - Fire crews have knocked down a house fire in the 1900 block of E. Gordan. The fire was reported just after 2 p.m. Saturday and was knocked down quickly after crews arrived on scene.
Upon arrival of the first fire crew, smoke could be seen coming from every opening in the roof. A search of the house was made to make sure all occupants had gotten out. Simultaneously a hole was cut in the roof to ventilate the hot gasses out of the attic and a fire hose was pulled to the upstairs and used to extinguish the fire. The utilities to the house were shut off for safety and an investigator was called to determine the cause of the fire. Fire crews had the fire knocked down in about 15 minutes after arrival.
Fire officials say the fire was confined to the attic, and only one person was inside the home when the fire broke out. No one was injured in the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation but responding crews said at first look the fire appears to be electrical
