MOSCOW, Idaho. - Latah County Magistrate John Judge has postponed the preliminary hearing of a man accused of murdering his pregnant wife and then burning down their home.

The preliminary hearing for Silas B. Parks was scheduled for July 14 but Judge rescheduled the hearing for Aug. 6 after attorneys on both sides of the case said they needed more time for the evidence disclosure process.

The 25-year-old Parks is charged with two counts of first-degree murder and one count of first-degree arson in the June 24 death of his 28-year-old wife Sarah J. Parks and her unborn child.

Sarah Parks was a third-grade teacher.

Moscow police have arrested the husband of a pregnant woman whose body was found in their burned apartment and charged him with killing his wife and their unborn child.

Silas Parks, 25, was arrested early Wednesday afternoon in connection with the June 24 fire, Lt. Paul Kwiatkowski told the Moscow-Pullman Daily News.

Firefighters found the body of 28-year-old Sarah Parks after extinguishing the flames. She was 20 weeks pregnant and authorities consider the case a double homicide.

An autopsy found that Sarah Parks was dead when the fire started and authorities say the fire was suspicious. >>More
