Last Spokane survivor of Pearl Harbor recalls infamous day 75 years later
SPOKANE, Wash. - At one time there were 125 members of the Lilac City Chapter of Pearl Harbor survivors. Sadly, that number is now down to one. Ray Garland is the sole survivor from the Japanese attack in Hawaii. Now 94 years old, he has vivid memories of that day 75 years ago as a member of the Marines.

Fairchild Air Force Base gave her an exclusive behind the scenes look of a historic KC-135 tanker on a mission to refuel jets. With only 40 feet between the tanker and fighter jet, Steph said they were close enough to wave at the pilot.

SPOKANE, Wash. - I had a feeling this trip would turn into something special when our plane arrived at Dulles International Airport in Washington D.C. We were greeted by the airport fire department using water cannons blasting a "Welcome" stream of water which formed an arch in which our plane proceeded through to the gate.

SPOKANE, Wash - The City of Spokane announced its reached a milestone in its efforts to end veteran homelessness.In February, the city launched the “Homes for Spokane’s Heroes” initiative working to end veteran homelessness. SPOKANE, Wash. - Thousands of veterans’ remains are unclaimed in the US. “It’s very moving to know that these veterans who're waiting so long are now with their comrades,” says Jennie Willardson, who attended the service. SPOKANE, Wash. - Update: Spokane firefighters say the iconic Shogun restaurant on E. 3rd Ave. appears to be a total loss after an early morning fire destroyed the building. First arriving companies found heavy fire coming through the roof of the Shogun Restaurant and immediately began to attack the fire. Despite attempts to enter the building, they were quickly forced out due to deteriorating conditions above them.

Deputies, fire crews, Columbia Basin Dive Rescue teams and Washington State Park Rangers responded to a call of a person who had gone into the water under Palouse Falls and had not surfaced around 5:30 p.m.

WICKLIFFE, Ohio (AP) - Police say a 2-year-old girl has been accidentally shot and killed by her mother at a hotel outside of Cleveland. Wickliffe police in a statement say emergency crews were called to an Econo Lodge around 11 p.m. Friday. A police officer and paramedics tried to resuscitate the girl, who was pronounced dead a short time later at a hospital.
