Woman knocked unconscious in purse snatching

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. - A 28-year-old woman was punched and knocked unconscious Thursday night by a man who stole her purse in a North Pines convenience store parking lot.

The victim told officers she was walking into the 7-Eleven Store in the 2100 block of N. Pines about 10 p.m. and was approached by a black male leaving the store. As they passed, the man grabbed her purse and then punched her in the face.

The blow knocked her to the pavement and she blacked out momentarily. The suspect escaped with the purse which was brown and had cherries printed on it.

A K-9 team attempted to track the suspect, but the area was contaminated by numerous other persons and the track was unsuccessful.

The suspect is described as being about 5'07" and had a medium build. She said he was wearing a dark shirt and pants, and that he had his hair styled in cornrows.

Anyone with information about the robbery is encouraged to call Crime Check at 456-2233.
