Fallout continues from Rammell's 'Obama hunting tag' comment

Posted: Updated:

BOISE, Idaho. - Idaho Republican Party Chairman Norm Semanko added his name to the growing list of GOP leaders condemning one of their own candidate's comments about hunting President Barack Obama.

Sens. Jim Risch and Mike Crapo, as well as U.S. Rep. Mike Simpson and Gov C.L. "Butch" Otter, already slammed 2010 GOP gubernatorial candidate Rex Rammell for saying he'd buy an "Obama tag."

Democratic Congressman Walt Minnick is also condemning Rammell for the comment. Rammell, who is running in the primary against Otter, made the comments at a Republican rally last week in Twin Falls. He has refused to apologize, saying he was just joking.

Semanko says his party doesn't condone the "Obama tag" comments, in jest or not. Semanko says Rammell "crossed the line from civil, political discourse into a ridiculous and desperate publicity stunt."

Rammell is an outsider Republican candidate who ran unsuccessfully as an independent in the 2008 U.S. Senate race won by Risch.

Spokane cat is probably bigger than your dog

KHQ.COM - An average house cat weighs between 7-10 pounds but one Spokane woman has a cat whose size is almost unheard of. Out of the corner of your eye, Ollie might be mistaken for a dog... he's that big! Not your normal house cat, Ollie is a Savannah cat, a hybrid breed that's a cross between a serval cat and a domestic cat. So while it's not surprising that he's bigger than a domestic cat, his size is still shocking.
