Missing 10-week-old baby found dead

WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. - Officers searching for a 10-week-old boy missing in Whatcom County say they've found the body of an infant in a wooded area and opened a homicide case.

The Whatcom County Sheriff's Office said Sunday it is awaiting positive identification of the body and the father of the child is being detained for questioning.

The 2-month-old baby boy, Jon "Cecil" Anthony Frazier, was reported missing by his grandmother early Friday morning from his home east of Custer.

It was reported that the boy's father had awoken and discovered that the boy was missing from his home.

The child's mother had reported to the Whatcom County Jail the previous morning to await transfer to a state prison on a robbery conviction.

A massive search was conducted in the area of his home from Friday through Sunday.

"Please, just bring our little guy home," said the boy's grandfather Jon Frazier.

Deputies say they received a tip on Sunday where the child's body might be located and did find an infant's body in a wooded area near that location.

Deputies say they were assisted by FBI agents and representatives from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in their investigation.
