    MOSCOW, Idaho. - Moscow police have arrested the husband of a pregnant woman whose body was found in their burned apartment and charged him with killing his wife and their unborn child. Silas Parks was arrested Wednesday afternoon in connection with the June 24 fire, Lt. Paul Kwiatkowski told the Moscow-Pullman Daily News. Firefighters found the body of 28-year-old Sarah Parks after extinguishing the flames. She was 20 weeks pregnant and authorities consider the case a double homicide.>>

MOSCOW, Idaho. - A preliminary hearing for a man charged with the murder of his wife and unborn child is set for Friday in Latah County.

Silas Parks faces two counts of first-degree murder and one count of first-degree arson in connection with the June 24 death of Sarah Parks, who was pregnant, and the fire that burned the couple's Moscow duplex.

An autopsy report indicated Sarah Parks died of strangulation or suffocation before the fire.

If convicted, the 25-year-old Silas Parks faces a possible death penalty or life in prison, the Lewiston Tribune reported. He remains in the Latah County jail on no bond.

Deputies, fire crews, Columbia Basin Dive Rescue teams and Washington State Park Rangers responded to a call of a person who had gone into the water under Palouse Falls and had not surfaced around 5:30 p.m.
