TWIN FALLS, Idaho. - An Idaho official says more charges of male prison rape are expected to be filed in the state after an inmate was found guilty of that charge earlier this month.

Pam Sonnen, chief of prisons for the Idaho Department of Correction, tells The Times-News that the precedent will likely mean more rape charges filed by other inmates in the system.

Cody Thompson was found guilty November 17 of male rape as well as attempting to intimidate a witness by a jury in Ada County.

State officials say the charge and conviction are a first for Idaho's 120-year-old prison system.
