SPOKANE, Wash. - Since October of this year, officials estimate there have been 18 'smash-and-grab' burglaries in Spokane County, including four that happened in Spokane early Friday morning.

The most recent string started just before 4 a.m. Friday and police are currently investigating if the burglaries are related.

Police say the four different businesses targeted Friday were: The Tesoro at 17th and Ray, the 76 gas station at 2nd and Cedar, the River Ridge Exxon at NW Blvd. and Alberta and in the county at Division and Hawthorne.

In most of the burglaries, the suspect vehicle appears to be a white SUV with two suspects wearing all black. The suspects smashed windows at each of the businesses and took various items during the burglaries.

Anyone with information on these crimes is asked to call Crime Check at 456-2233.

SPOKANE, Wash. - Neighbors and business owners in Hillyard tell KHQ they don't know how much more they can take. They said a motorhome is attracting all kinds of trouble. Piles of trash surround it, and neighbors said it is a magnet for crime. They said even human waste is going into the roadway. "It's a war zone," said one neighbor. "It's nothing but trouble," said another.
