CLARKSTON, Wash. - A fugitive suspected of threatening to kill Spokane Police officers was arrested in Asotin County Thursday.

According to the United States Marshals Service, 21-year-old Shawn Buroker made the threats against officers he believes are responsible for his father's death in Spokane eight years ago.

In December of 2001, Spokane Police say officers were involved in a fight with Buroker's father, Ira Buroker. During that fight a gun went off and officers shot and killed Ira.

Buroker was sentenced to three years probation in Idaho on a conspiracy to commit burglary charge in January and then moved to Washington in March before he went missing in November.

Thursday afternoon, Buroker was arrested at a friend's house in Clarkston by deputies with the Asotin County Sheriff's Office.

Spokane Police were aware of the situation and say some of the officers Buroker allegedly threatened are still with the department.

Shawn moved to Washington state under terms of the Interstate Compact Agreement, which allows states to exchange offenders to facilitate their supervision.
