Spokane Valley convenience store clerk assault upgraded to robbery

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. - Spokane Valley Police are investigating an early morning assault and robbery at a convenience store located at Sinto and Mullan.

Officers say around 3 a.m. Monday, a man walked into the store and attempted to buy beer.  According to a Spokane Valley police sergeant, the store clerk refused to sell the man alcohol and in response, the suspect assaulted the clerk and ran from the store.

Because the suspect also took the store's cordless phone, and smashed it outside, the incident is officially being called a robbery. The suspect is described as a white male, about 25 years old, with a couple days of facial growth. He is said to weigh between 190 and 200 pounds and was last seen wearing a white baseball cap.

The extent of the clerk's injuries are unknown, although a Sargeant with the Spokane Valley police department says that clerk is undergoing a medical evaluation. The clerk actually had to go to a different gas station, in the 8200 block of east Trent to call law enforcement.

That sounds about right for the area, right? Well this house is a bit of a fixer upper. The kind with lots of potential if you invest the time and money.  Currently, however, it is shown on the real estate site Redfin in less than perfect condition.
