KOOTENAI COUNTY, Idaho- Kootenai County Sheriff's Spokesperson, Major Ben Wolfinger says the man who had been missing in the Coeur d'Alene National Forest has been found.  Kent Giese, 53, was located at about 11:00 am, Monday by a friend of his who had gone to the area to assist with the search.  Maj. Wolfinger said Mr. Giese is in good condition and refused medical assistance after being found.

Kootenai County Sheriff's Department and Search and Rescue conducted three searches for Giese in under 24 hours.  He was eventually found approximately 10 to 12 miles from the Burnt Cabin Saddle area where his truck had run out of gas.

Mr. Giese elected to stay at the location where he was found in order to free his vehicle from its location.  Friends of his were assisting him.

The Kootenai County Sheriff's Department would like to caution outdoor enthusiasts about traveling in remote areas in Kootenai County.  They say that snow conditions are neither favorable for wheeled vehicles or snowmobiles at this time.

KHQ is following this developing story and will have updated information as it comes into the newsroom.
