Ice and high speeds blamed for one vehicle rollover

SPOKANE, Wash.- Washington State Patrol troopers are warning of very slick and icy roadways Wednesday morning. The warning comes after a one car crash in north Spokane that is being blamed on ice and high speeds.

It happened Tuesday night on Highway 2 near Colbert Road. WSP Troopers say a vehicle driven by David Brown was going to fast for conditions and lost control on a patch of ice. The vehicle slid off the roadway and rolled at least once.

Both David Brown, and his passenger Amy Brown, were injured in that crash and both were taken to Sacred Heart Medical Center. Their injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Troopers say Brown was driving too fast for the conditions, and he will be cited for that. He will also be cited for driving while on a suspended license.

Because of the icy conditions and cold weather, Troopers say drivers should slow down and leave themselves plenty of distance between other vehicles. To see Wednesday's forecast with George Maupin CLICK HERE
