One arrested in connection with early morning stabbing and home invasion

SPOKANE, Wash. - A 39-year-old man was arrested early Wednesday morning after a home invasion turned into a fight inside a house in the 900 block of E. Wabash.

Around 2:00 a.m., police say between six and eight people pushed their way into the house and a fight broke out with the people inside. Two people in the home were injured; one was hit with a hammer and the other was taken to an area hospital with a non life-threatening stab wound to his back.

Police believe the home invasion and fight may be related to a separate confrontation last Friday.

Following the home invasion and fight, officers took Preston Tensley into custody for burglary and say it is too early in the investigation to determine if Tensley will be charged with assault.

Police are continuing to investigate. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Check at 456-2233.
