Sheriff Harvey Gjesdal said investigators are hoping tips will break the case. The body has not been positively identified, but investigators are working on the assumption it's 17-year-old Mackenzie Cowell. The Wenatchee High School student was last seen leaving a beauty school class Tuesday in Wenatchee.>>

    WENATCHEE, Wash. - A half-dozen FBI agents and dozens of officers from other agencies have brought the total number of police looking for a missing 17-year-old girl in Chelan County to about 30.>>

WENATCHEE, Wash. - A memorial service for 17-year-old high school student MacKenzie Cowell will be held Thursday in Wenatchee at Town Toyota Center.
     
She was killed after leaving a beauty school class Feb. 9 in Wenatchee. Her body was found Feb. 13 along the Columbia River at Crescent Bar.
     
Police say they have no suspects and are continuing to follow up on information provided through more than 150 tips given so far.

Cowell's family has established a reward fund for information leading the to arrest and prosecution of those responsible for her death. The reward amount is currently $5,800 and the number to report information is (509) 663-9911.

The case is being investigated by a task force of officers from Wenatchee, East Wenatchee, Douglas and Chelan counties, the Washington State Patrol and FBI.

According to court documents, several men contacted authorities about the parlor, Space Oil Massage, and told them that the women who worked there asked them in private to call 911 because they were being forced to perform sex acts against their will.

(AP) - Police say a man who was assaulting a woman in Yakima is dead after he was struck with a baton or baseball bat as witnesses intervened.    Authorities say the fight happened late Sunday night outside the Connections Transitional Apartments. Officers arrived to find a 57-year-old man who lived at the complex sitting outside with a head injury. He died at a hospital.
