(After the memorial service, audience members walked outside and
released pink and purple balloons)

WENATCHEE, Wash. - Nearly 2,000 people turned out for a public memorial service in Wenatchee for a 17-year-old high school student who was killed and left on the bank of the Columbia River.

Police say they have no suspects in the slaying of Mackenzie Cowell. There's a $5,800 reward for information.

The Rev. Sandy Brown told Thursday's memorial participants they were gathered because someone stole Cowell's life but also to celebrate their memories of her.

The service included a drill routine and dance routine by the Apple-Ettes Dance Team from Wenatchee High School. Cowell was a member of that team.

Afterward, audience members walked outside and released pink and purple balloons into the air.

Cowell was killed after leaving a beauty school class Feb. 9 in Wenatchee. Her body was found Feb. 13 along the river at Crescent Bar.

The case is being investigated by a task force of officers from Wenatchee, East Wenatchee, Douglas and Chelan counties, the Washington State Patrol and FBI.

PULLMAN, Wash. - Six-year-old Denny Curran should be enjoying his last few days of summer before first grade. He should be teasing his brother, splashing in the pool, giving his parents a hard time about vegetables. Instead, Denny is dead, the victim of a horrific, freak bicycle accident that could happen to your child too. "Denny was an extraordinary child," his father Keith Curran told KHQ.

SPOKANE, Wash. - Spokane Police say they saw a dramatic increase in drug related calls on Tuesday. Police say at least one person has died and officers responded to almost 20 other calls of people acting erratically. Police are looking into whether there is a drug on the street that is "creating adverse health effects." Reported behavior is consistent with a stimulant, causing people to hallucinate and act in an unpredictable and sometimes violent manner.
