One Gonzaga team still very much alive in NCAA Tournament Play

SEATTLE, Wash.- The Gonzaga men may be out of the NCAA Tournament, but the women are still very much in it, and are raring for action. Monday night, the Lady Zags face off against the Texas A & M Aggies in the Second Round of the Women's NCAA Tournament.

The match up set for 6:40 Monday night and can be seen on ESPN2. Texas A & M is a #2 seed team that defeated Portland State 84-53 to earn their spot in the second round. The Gonzaga University women's basketball team is 28-4 overall and the team is now riding a 19-game winning streak. Their win over the University of North Carolina on Saturday is only the second win in the NCAA Tournament for the Gonzaga Women's basketball team.

It's interesting to note that this is the second meeting between the Bulldogs and the Aggies. The Bulldogs last loss of the season came at the hands of the Aggies - an 80-76 loss on December 20 in Las Vegas. If Gonzaga beats the Aggies, they'll face either Vanderbilt or Xavier in next Saturday's Sweet 16 Round. No game time has been set.

KHQ Local News Anchor Dave Cotton is in Seattle covering the Zags and will have live reports Monday night during KHQ Local News at 5 and 6.
