Zip Trip robbed on N. Division

SPOKANE, Wash. - Police are investigating a robbery that occurred at the Zip Trip at 909 N. Division near Cataldo Sunday morning.

At approximately 4:44 a.m. Spokane police officers responded to a robbery call at the Zip Trip.  The employee inside told police, a suspect entered the store and told the clerk he had a gun and demanded 10 and 20 dollar bills.  The suspect never displayed a weapon, but the clerk gave him all the money that was in the cash register at the time, exactly 18 dollars in one dollar bills.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, about 5'5", overweight, unshaven with dark hair, and was about 30-years-old.  The suspect was wearing a dark blue or black hoodie sweatshirt with a gray beanie underneath, over gray pants or gray sweats and white/red tennis shoes.

The suspect fled north bound toward Cataldo.  A K-9 officer was used for a track, but it was quickly determined the suspect probably ran around the store and fled in a waiting vehicle.

Anyone with any information is encouraged to call 911 or Crime Check at 456-2233.
