Motorcyclist killed Saturday night
SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. – A 35-year-old man died after riding his motorcycle off Geiger Blvd. and striking a metal post and speed sign Saturday night.
Deputies arrived at the crash sometime after 3 AM Sunday and found the man more than 100 feet from the motorcycle left the roadway. Investigators suspect both speed and alcohol may have been factors in the crash.
Sheriff's traffic investigators said the motorcycle had been paralleling eastbound I-90 on Geiger when it entered a slight curve to the left at the intersection with Electric Avenue. The victim failed to make the curve. When deputies arrived, the motorcycle's engine was cold and it is unknown what time the crash occurred.
An autopsy has been scheduled for Monday morning. The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet
Deputies were tipped to the crash when a pedestrian discovered the man, walked to a nearby truck stop and told the clerk to call police.
