Police Standoff in North Spokane Ends

Spokane, WA - Spokane Police were in a standoff at 2900 E. Diamond for over three hours Saturday night.  The incident started just before 8:00 pm as a call to check the welfare of a female at the address.  It ended shortly after midnight as a domestic violence call where the suspect is now wanted on Felony charges.

Police believed the suspect, 35 year old Pedro Garcia, was inside the residence during the incident and was possibly suicidal.  Medics, Hostage Negotiators, and SWAT members were all called to the scene to try and contact Garcia and end the event peacefully.  When Garcia did not respond to the multiple attempts at contact, entry was made into the residence.  Garcia was not located inside and is believed to have escaped before the home could be contained by police.

Pedro Garcia is now wanted for a Felony Domestic Violence Order for Protection Violation, 1st Degree Burglary, Unlawful Imprisonment , and Felony Harassment.  If you have information that would help locate him, please call Crime Check at 456-2233.
