Flags lowered Thursday for Dorothy Height

OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) - In response to a proclamation from President Obama, Gov. Chris Gregoire has directed that flags at state facilities be lowered to half-staff Thursday in memory of Dorothy Height.

The pioneering voice of the civil rights movement died last week at age 98 in Washington, D.C. Obama will deliver the eulogy Thursday at the funeral.

    SPOKANE, Wash. - Spokane Police say they are investigating an unattended death after they responded to a report of a deceased woman found in a dumpster of a business in the 2900 block of E. 27th Ave. Friday morning. Spokane Police Officers and Major Crimes Unit (MCU) Detectives responded to the scene for the investigation around 9:30 a.m.
