Accidental shooting death of a Spokane County man
SPOKANE, Wash. - Sheriff's deputies Friday afternoon were investigating the apparent accidental shooting death of a Spokane County man.
A woman in 6200 block of South Chapman Road called 911 about 1 p.m. and said her husband had accidentally shot himself with a shotgun and was in a field nearby. She told the operator that he had gone out earlier to kill a porcupine that had tangled with one of their four dogs.
Deputies found the 67-year-old husband deceased. The wife reported that he had some medical issues, but it was unknown if they contributed to the accident. The matter remains under investigation.
