SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash.-Law enforcement crews are responded to two different vehicle crashes in Spokane Valley.

The first crash happened at 6:30 Monday morning at Sullivan and 4th. According to Spokane County Fire Dispatchers, that crash involves a vehicle and pedestrian. Fire dispatchers confirm that it was a 15 year-old girl that was hit. It's not clear the extent of the her injuries but officers at Sullivan and 4th say she was transported to Sacred Heart Medical Center with serious injuries.

She was hit by a pickup truck while riding a skateboard and suffered head trauma and has multiple side injuries. Spokane Valley police officers are reconstructing the crash using new 3D technology. Officers say the driver will not be cited and that the girl was crossing Sullivan illegally, against a red light. They say the driver offered to undergo a blood test to proof he hadn't been drinking.

The other crash involves a head on collision at Trent and Barker. That crash happened just before 6:45 Monday morning. There are minor injuries in this crash, but it did shut down Trent for about half an hour. One person was transported to an area hospital. Officers there say a worker at Greenacres Garden was turning into work when the car behind him rear-ended his car. A third car was involved but it's not clear how.

It's not clear if weather played a role in either crash. Keep watching KHQ Local News Today during every half-hour from there, or KHQ.com for updates as they happen.

SPOKANE, Wash. - Initiative-1639 has been the root of controversy ever since supporters began asking for signatures. It became even more complicated when the Washington Supreme Court overturned a Thurston County judges decision after the judge initially threw out over 300,000 signatures saying the petition didn't follow election law claiming it was unreadable.
