Woman crashes car into house on Perry Street

SPOKANE, Wash.-- A family is cleaning up the inside of their home after a car drove right into their living room.

Police say a Cadillac ran into the back of a Chevy Blazer at a high rate of speed on Perry Street. It then veered off the road into the side of the house.

"I heard, Boom, and I thought someone broke a window," said Larry Morris, who was inside the home. "Then I heard a bigger boom and I saw the car drive into the side of the house."

Two people were in the living room when the car came through the house. A woman was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries while the man sitting with her was checked out for back pain.

"She kind of got flung by it. She was standing by the window when it happened," said Morris.

Police say the wreck caused severe structural damage to the home and they had to tape off the room for safety.

"That front room, it's pretty unstable. We were walking in there and they said we needed to get out there in case the floor collapses," said Morris.

As for the driver of the Cadillac, Police say the 25-year-old female doesn't remember what happened during the crash.
