Memorial in Kellogg Idaho is a Real Fight; Bill McGinty Reports
KELLOGG, Idaho. - The Veterans of the City of Kellogg, Idaho served a Petition of Recall for all 6 city council members and the mayor. The Petition was signed by 20 verified registered voters, notarized, and delivered to the city clerk Wednesday morning.
Some of the people of Kellogg are angry about the City Councils decision to move a 50 year old Veterans Memorial, their refusal to fly the American Flag on the Flagpole in Memorial Park or the Football field, and their refusal to answer any questions presented to them about these actions.
The Memorial is roughly one hundred yards from the site where it sat since 1958 and some of the Veterans say the decision to move it across the park was rushed. Reporter Bill McGinty asked Kellogg City Councilman and former Mayor Merv Hill if he regretted his "yea" vote to move the Memorial given the controversy. Mr. Hill's reply was "no."
