Palin Rally in Idaho Delayed After Luggage Hold-up

BOISE, Idaho (AP)- Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's rally to energize Idaho voters and raise money for Republican congressional hopeful Vaughn Ward was delayed after her luggage got lost in transit.

Ward introduced the former vice presidential candidate Friday and said that Palin arrived on time in Boise, but her bags did not. The rally started about 30 minutes late.

Palin appeared in a shimmery light-blue jacket worn over a black, knee-length dress and joked: "I'm in borrowed clothes, again," making reference to the designer clothes controversy during the McCain-Palin presidential campaign.

The clothing was purchased from a Boise shop and paid for by the campaign, which Palin reimbursed with a check for $298.50, according to campaign spokesman Mike Tracy.

Her visit drew about 1,500 to the 5,000-seat Qwest Arena comes just five days before Tuesday's primary and Ward's showdown with rival state Rep. Raul Labrador for the GOP nomination for Idaho's 1st Congressional District.
