Stepfather Charged After Getting Toddler Drunk

CINCINNATI, Ohio - A 23-year-old Ohio man has been charged with first-degree criminal abuse after his 2-year-old stepdaughter was rushed to the hospital passed out drunk.

Raymond Jackson, of Crescent Spring, Ky., faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted.

Court records allege that Jackson allowed, and encouraged, the 2-year-old to drink a cocktail of gin and iced tea while he was taking care of the girl and his 6-month-old son.

The child's blood-alcohol level was 0.250, more than three times the minimum for a driver to be presumed impaired under Ohio law, according to court documents.

Authorities were alerted after Jackson, who had also been drinking, and his wife, Amanda, brought the unresponsive girl to the hospital this weekend, The Enquirer says.
