Sheriff: Seattle Doctor Traded Drugs For Sex

SEATTLE (AP) - A highly regarded Seattle doctor has been accused of prescribing narcotics to a woman 50 years his junior in exchange for sexual contact.

King County sheriff's deputies say the 72-year-old doctor based at Harborview Medical Center committed 34 counts of prescription forgery.

The state's Medical Quality Assurance Commission identified the doctor Tuesday as Len Hudson, and said it suspended his license. The commission said he never examined the woman, whom he met through an online escort service, and continued prescribing her drugs even after learning of her addiction. The woman had to be hospitalized for an overdose in March.

Hudson is a highly regarded pulmonary physician and former president of the American Lung Association of Washington. Last month the University of Washington's Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine named an endowed chair in his honor. A message left at his office was not immediately returned Tuesday.

ST. Mia Suchoski called the deer “Bucky” while her neighbors Donna and Doug Smeltzer called it “Baby.”
