Police say 16 Confirmed Dead in Arkansas Floods
CADDO GAP, Ark. (AP) - State police say 16 people are confirmed dead after flash floods triggered by heavy rains slammed a pair of campgrounds in southwestern Arkansas.

He says rescuers are searching for anyone still trapped by the flooding, but that they do not know how many there may be. He says the water level in Montgomery and Pike counties, some 75 miles west of Little Rock, peaked at 23.5 feet Friday morning.
The National Weather Service says 7.6 inches of rain in the area.
