Driver On The Loose After Car Smashes Through Living Room in N. Spokane

SPOKANE, Wash.- Spokane Police and Washington State Patrol are looking for the driver and passenger of a car that smashed through the living room of a home in the 5700 block of north Cedar just before 2:00 Tuesday morning.

WSP troopers have released the name of the driver, identified as 19-year-old Adran Gibson. According to a WSP news release, a trooper tried to pull Adran over on a suspicion of DUI charge. Adran took off and the trooper immediately terminated the pursuit for safety reasons.

A short time later a neighbor called 911 to report the home in the 5700 block of north Cedar just had a car go through its front entrance. Adran Gibson and another passenger fled on foot before law enforcement could get there. But two other passengers, in the back, were trapped in the 2006 Hyundai Sonata and arrested. Neither was seriously hurt.

Police set up a perimeter and brought out a K-9 tracking team, but they were unable to find either Adran or that second passenger. Police say Adran left the car with his keys in hand, perhaps believing he could return to the car at some point and drive it away. That wasn't going to happen. The car was towed out of the house just before 5:00 Tuesday morning.

No one inside was injured, but the home was seriously damaged and the homeowners are not able to stay in the home until it's inspected. A firefighter at the home says an inspector will check the safety of the home Tuesday afternoon to determine if it's safe to stay in.
