KHQ.Com Exclusive: Three Arrested In Dozens Of Car Prowls in West Central Spokane

SPOKANE, Wash. – Three people are under arrest after an investigation by the Washington State Patrol into a series of car prowls, break-ins and car thefts across Spokane County.

A 17-year-old was arrested in West Central Spokane after a short standoff with police. Two others were arrested before that, including 19-year-old Christopher Hooper.

Hooper was arrested earlier this week after alleging crashing a car stolen from a basketball player from the Eastern Washington University women's team.

The car was recovered on July 3 after a crash on Highway 291. Hooper was booked into jail after the crash and was released from jail pending trial.

He was arrested again today on a new charge of possessing stolen property.

18-year-old Bowe Frank was also arrested and will face a second-degree theft charge, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Boone Avenue was closed for about 30 minutes during the standoff with an unidentified 17-year-old.

Troopers say the three are responsible for at least 20 car prowls across Spokane County.

The arrests happened near the scene of a murder Tuesday in West Central Spokane. One man was killed in an early morning shooting.

Troopers have not yet accused any of those arrested of murder.
