Spokane Charity Car Wash Robbed

SPOKANE, Wash. -The Northeast Youth Center's fundraising efforts have been set back by thieves. A cash box containing money to help send low-income children to camp this summer was stolen Saturday afternoon. It happened around 2 pm in the Yoke's parking lot on North Foothills Drive. Witnesses say that a man walked up to the table, grabbed the cash box and ran off into a waiting vehicle.

Shortly after the incident, the cash box was found a few blocks away, minus the money. It was returned to the Northeast Youth Center. However, now they must begin refilling it.

The vehicle is described as a Burgundy Chevy Lumina. The man who grabbed the cash box is described as a white male, 5'9"-5'11", 170-185 lbs, dark hair, wearing a blue shirt and dark pants.

The driver is described as a black female and the passenger was also female. No other description was available.

Saturday is the only day they have planned to raise money. If you would like to make a donation to the Northeast Youth Center they have set up an account at Banner Bank. For more information you can go to their website, www.spokaneneyc.org .
