Forecast for Texas: Clear Skies with a Chance of Pot?

CADDO MILLS, Texas - It wasn't hail failing from the sky in east Texas -- it was pot. Hunt County Undersheriff Joe Knight says rural homeowners heard something hitting their roofs early yesterday. He says black duffel bags filled with high quality marijuana were apparently tossed from a small plane.

The single engine plane originated from Arizona and was ultimately found by police abandoned in a field beside a runway at Caddo Mills Municipal Airport.Sheriff Knight stated that his department was advised about 5:30 a.m. Monday to watch for a low-flying aircraft. The plane was then tracked and chased by authorities.

A total of six 100 lb duffel bags of high-grade marijuana were gathered by police. There were no injuries or damage reported.

Citizens turned in four black nylon duffel bags filled high-grade, hydroponic marijuana and deputies found two more in the plane. One man, believed to be the pilot, was taken into custody by police. Caddo Mills is located in Hunt County, about 35 miles northeast of Dallas.
