SWAT Standoff In Post Falls; Suspect Due In Court

Joshua Michael Moses Joshua Michael Moses

POST FALLS, Wash. - 28-year-old Joshua Moses is in police custody after a 6 hour long standoff at 204 west 17th in Post Falls. Moses was arrested at The Falls Club on Seltice Way around 6:30 p.m. Thursday. Police say he was picked up by some friends who tried to convince him to turn himself in. The group stopped at the restaurant and the SWAT team showed up a short time later and took him into custody without incident. During the standoff Moses was not inside of the home on 17th.

Moses was wanted for kidnapping Josh Benham and holding him hostage in the basement of the same house over the weekend. Benham tells police he was duck taped to a chair and pistol whipped. Police believe Benham owed Moses money and Moses finally let him go when he was given $2,500 dollars from Benham's family.

Moses is also wanted in connection with a runaway girl 16-year-old Holly Brown who was reportedly last seen with Joshua Moses. Police say they still don't know the whereabouts of the girl, but know she was not with Moses at the time of his arrest. Moses is charged with extortion, kidnapping and aggravated battery. Moses is expected to make his first court appearance on Friday.
