UPDATE: Animal Rescue Operation In Spokane County
SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. - Spokane County Sheriff, Scraps and Humane Evacuation Animal Rescue Team (HEART) officials are on scene of a puppy mill investigation in rural Newman Lake. The dogs environment is being reviewed as well as their medical condition including sanitation and grooming.
Authorities say between 140 and 150 dogs are being checked out by three veterinarians. Approximately 90 adult dogs and 20-40 puppies were found when a warrant was issued this morning.
The Breeder, Wilma L Turner of Iron Horse Kennels breeds poodles of all sizes, labradoodles and other small breeds.
The Operation was last checked in November 2009, at that time they had 62 animals, that number has more than doubled in less than 8 months
The investigation comes after a report of animal neglect.

OLDTOWN, Idaho - Fire crews in Bonner County are working to put out a large structure fire in the Oldtown area Monday night. The Bonner County Sheriff's Office reports Highway 41 is closed while crews work to put the fire out. GRANT COUNTY, Wash. - Grant County Sheriff Tom Jones says a deputy who plead guilty to reckless endangerment after accidentally shooting his wife last August is back on duty. The Franklin County Prosecutor initially filed felony charges against Deputy Jose Rivera following the shooting, which injured his wife. Those charges were later amended to a gross misdemeanor of reckless endangerment.>>
