SPOKANE, Wash. – Police in Spokane are investigating a bank robbery inside a Safeway store. The robbery happened Monday afternoon at a Banner Bank inside the grocery store near Hillyard.

Detectives obtained surveillance video from the bank security system. The suspect is described as a middle-aged woman with red hair.

Authorities are investigating whether she is the same woman responsible for a robbery in late June. The bank inside the Safeway at Hamilton Street and Mission Avenue was robbed on June 30th. The suspect in that case is also described as a woman with red hair wearing sunglasses.

Surveillance images of Monday's incident were not immediately available to the public. Police previously released images of the June incident and continue to search for the person responsible in that case.

Anyone with information on either robbery is asked to call Crime Check at (509) 456-2233.
