Man Charged With 13th DUI

HAMILTON, Mont. (AP) - A 59-year-old Hamilton man who was recently released from prison has been arrested on what could be his 13th drunken driving offense.

The Ravalli Republic reports James C. Farrell was arrested Tuesday after being pulled over for speeding through Corvallis with an open container of alcohol in his car.

Court records say a preliminary breath test measured a blood alcohol level of 0.141 percent. A person is considered legally drunk with a blood alcohol level of 0.08 percent.

Farrell appeared before Ravalli County Justice Jim Bailey Wednesday on a felony DUI and two misdemeanors. Bail was set at $20,000. The Department of Corrections placed a parole hold on
Farrell as well.

Farrell's probation officer says Farrell has 12 prior DUI convictions.

PULLMAN, Wash. - Six-year-old Denny Curran should be enjoying his last few days of summer before first grade. He should be teasing his brother, splashing in the pool, giving his parents a hard time about vegetables. Instead, Denny is dead, the victim of a horrific, freak bicycle accident that could happen to your child too. "Denny was an extraordinary child," his father Keith Curran told KHQ.

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash.- Spokane Valley firefighters are working to put out a fire at an apartment building on 6th Avenue.

Firefighters brought in extra resources because they were worried the fire could spread to nearby brush but they have been fighting it for about an hour. They tell KHQ that they have managed to keep it contained to one building, although there are multiple units inside.
