Spokane Police Arrest Downtown Stabbing Suspect

OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE: On September 8, 2010 at 7:08 pm, Spokane Police Officers responded to a report of a stabbing in progress at Short St and Division in downtown Spokane. The complainant stated that one male was stabbing another with a knife.

Corporal Ty Johnson and Lt. Keith Cummings arrived on scene and observed the suspect run west on Short into an apartment building. While officers attended to the victim, other responding officers contained the building by setting a perimeter. Lt Cummings observed that the suspect was running around the enclosed courtyard of the apartment building trying to conceal himself. K-9 Officer Dan Waters and his partner Ex responded and located the suspect concealed behind several sheets of plywood in the courtyard. Arrested for First Degree Assault was Eugene A. Young, a 36 year old male.

Officers learned through investigation that Young and the male victim were involved in a verbal argument at the 7-11 store at 2nd and Division. The victim left, but Young followed him, and then stabbed the victim with a small folding pocket knife at Short and Division. The knife was located at the apartments. The victim was transported to Sacred Heart Hospital for serious, but non-life threatening stab wounds to the chest.

SPOKANE, Wash. - Location, location, location.  You may have seen a post making its way around social media of a house listing in Seattle for nearly $450,000. That sounds about right for the area, right? Well this house is a bit of a fixer upper. The kind with lots of potential if you invest the time and money.  Currently, however, it is shown on the real estate site Redfin in less than perfect condition.
