UPDATE: NTSB Issues Early Report In Idaho Helicopter Crash

GRANGEVILLE, Idaho (AP) - A preliminary report by the National Transportation Safety Board about a northern Idaho helicopter crash that killed all three aboard doesn't say why the aircraft went
down.

The report released late Thursday notes a debris path measured about 1,500 feet long and contained parts of the helicopter that crashed in the town of Kamiah.

Killed in the Aug. 31 crash were 47-year-old Larry Barrett and 34-year-old Danielle Schiff, both biologists with Idaho Fish and Game in the helicopter to count salmon spawning nests in the Selway River.

The pilot was 43-year-old Perry J. Krinitt of Belgrade, Mont. The Lewiston Tribune reports the NTSB says that shortly before the crash Krinitt radioed that he was landing in Kamiah.
