Cell Phones Registered At Everett High School
EVERETT, Wash. (AP) - The school resource officer at Everett High School is registering student cell phones, MP3 players and other handhelds.
The officer, Meg DiBucci-Nelson, told The Daily Herald of Everett that theft of personal electronics is a big problem in schools. And even when police or school officials recover stolen
property, students often can't identify details, such as the specific model.
Students who register at Everett High School get a sticker that signifies the device is registered with police. About 100 students have registered their electronics in a little more than a week.
