UPDATE: Theft Charges For Woman Burned In Acid Hoax

VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) - A woman who splashed a caustic substance on her face and claimed a stranger had attacked her is facing three theft charges.

The felony charges filed Monday by Deputy Prosecutor Tony Golik relate to a public fund set up to benefit Bethany Storro after the incident. Her parents have said all money raised for her will be returned.

The Columbian reports that in court papers, Storro says she was trying to kill herself, or at least get a new face, when she put caustic drain cleaner on her face Aug. 30.
