Washington's Jobless Rate Steady At 9 Percent In Sept.
OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) - Washington state's unemployment rate is holding steady at 9 percent. State officials released September's unemployment figures Tuesday. They say Washington added about 1,000 private-sector jobs last month. But that was tempered by the loss of about 4,200
There's been a net gain of about 1,200 jobs in the state over the past nine months.
The state estimates about 303,000 people were unemployed and looking for work last month. About 223,000 people received unemployment benefits.
