KHQ WEATHER AUTHORITY: Lingering low pressure is keeping our weather unsettled throughout our Tuesday. Showers will remain scattered, winds will continue to be breezy with gust to 25mph and temperatures cool and below average (Av. 53°) toping out in the mid 40's. Overnight lows will dip down tonight and Wednesday night to near freezing (33°) for Spokane and freezing or below for the outlying areas....particularly across the Northern Valleys. Because of the winds, we are dealing with "wind chill" temps....temps are "feeling" like they are about 5-10° cooler then they actually are.

As for SNOW....Snow levels will jump up to 4000ft or above today. Tonight they will drop back down to 3000ft and that does mean that we will add to our snow totals in the higher mountain passes....and lower mountain passes ....like Snoqualmie and Lookout will pick up a few inches overnight.

The best day on the six day forecast is still looking like Wednesday, with only a slight chance of rain in the forecast and calmer winds. Thursday a weaker system will push in bringing the potential for scattered showers through the weekend. For all of you "Trick or Treater's" ....looks like Halloween we have about a 30% chance of showers with temps that will be about 45° as you head out the door!

Have a great one!

SPOKANE, Wash. - Nothing beats being outside in this great weather right now, but this wet spring has brought a lot of pests. We’ve been talking about wasps and ticks, but black flies are coming out in force too. Jenny Zhang says she’s noticed black flies a lot more in her neighborhood. Her 2-year-old son Liam was bitten.  “Actually, when he got bit he thought it was a bumblebee and then he was afraid of them,” she says. The bites
