Suspicious Package Found At German Chancellor's Office

BERLIN (AP) - German officials say a package that may contain explosives has been found in the mailroom of Chancellor Angela Merkel's office.

In Athens, small mail bombs exploded outside the Russian and Swiss embassies Tuesday and police destroyed at least three more. They blamed the attacks on far-left domestic extremists.

Merkel's spokesman Steffen Seibert says "it cannot be ruled out that the package contains explosives."

The attacks in Greece began Monday when a mail bomb addressed to the Mexican embassy wounded one worker. Two suspects were arrested with carrying mail bombs addressed to French President Nicolas Sarkozy and the Belgian Embassy.
